The Liucura River runs along a large part of Kari Mapu Park, giving anglers plenty of great spots to fish for salmon or trout. With good gear, you can get close to the fish nursery area, where the biggest fish are caught, opposite the river island where two currents meet, or in the rapids.
For more experienced anglers, we recommend bringing your own gear. For beginners, or anyone who wants to try fishing for the first time, Kari Mapu provides fishing rods free of charge.
