Pucón is an important stop for outdoor lovers visiting southern Chile. Although this town isn't quite in “the deep south of Chile,” it's very well placed for all kinds of activities, including cycling.
The area around Pucón lends itself beautifully to cycling: the Lake Villarrica lakeside path, the rural roads towards Lake Caburgua and the Ojos del Caburgua, or the trails around Los Calabozos, surrounded by native forest with views of the volcano. Several shops in town rent mountain bikes by the half day or full day.
